7/16 - Master of Puppets!

Here are the puppets for the main characters, Juan Pablo and Talia with their clothes on and the rough sculpts of their faces. The heads are going to be molded and then cast out of urethane. The necks and hands will be molded and then cast out of silicon so that they can move.

7/12 - Voiceovers!

I am very happy to have two very talented actors to play the lead roles for "Do Not Push". Today we recorded the voices for Juan Pablo, voiced by Josh Covitt, and Talia, voiced by Deanna Russo(image Top Right).

The voiceovers were recorded at my friend Erik Desiderio's (image bottom right) studio. He'll also be composing the music for the film as well as possibly doing the sound design if he has the time.

7/25 - My Mouth(s) Burning!

No, I didn't eat a bunch of jalapeƱos, but I did leave my sculpey mouths in the oven slightly too long. If you're baking sculpy, don't let yourself get distracted, or you might find yourself re-sculpting a set of mouths. In my case I had to redo Talia's mouths. The first image to the right shows one burnt mouth and the second one I had to make of the same mouth, only properly baked.

The second image shows all of Talia's mouths and their respective sounds. Juan Pablo has mouths that have been made as well, but I'm showing Talia's because she has lipstick on so they look nicer.

7/10 - Woof!

Puppet construction is well under way. Here are some pics of the German Shepherd puppet construction.

The sculpt that had previously been posted was for making the German Shepherd out of foam latex. After getting the clothes for the people, the aesthetic choice was made to make the dog using fake fur, so the sculpt was abandoned and this is the foam buildup on top of the armature. The last picture shows the start of the fur being fitted to the dog.

6/10 - Starting to work!

Jason Gottlieb starts sculpting the first character for the film. The sculpture is of a German Shepherd, it's currently not in a proper position for making a mold, though that is underway. A finished sculpt will be uploaded when ready.
