8/06 - Get Set!

I'm very lucky to have a wonderful artist building the sets for this film for me. This not only helps me time wise, but it's nice to get other peoples' touch to help create a film. Plus, he's one hell of a fabricator and is able to build these sets faster/better than I could! Who is this awesome man you ask? Troy Morgan! You'll see some of his work in "Do Not Push" but you can check out more on his site: Curioframe

To the right is a shot of some of the sets sitting in my office. They will get moved into my bedroom when it becomes the set. I'm in the process of cleaning the room out so that I can build my stage where my bed currently is.

7/31 - Cleaning House!

I don't have too much to post right now. I've been steadily working on finishing up various props and the puppets, but I've been splitting time with cleaning my place. I know it doesn't seem like a lot, but ever since I started working on the film I haven't put anything away, kept anything organized, or really cleaned anything if I didn't have to.

In addition to cleaning I'll soon be emptying out my bedroom, as that's where I'll be shooting, because its the only room I can keep my cats out of; and it's not a good idea to let cats near a stop motion set!

I need to have some sort of image to accompany this post, so to the right is the almost finished dog puppet. I don't know why, but this seems to be the 'official' German Shepherd pose for dog shows.

7/27 - Running Time!

Don't break out your Nikes just yet, I'm not talking about that kind of running time. I'm talking about the length of "Do Not Push". I completed the animatic and even though I'm sure the time will change a bit based on my animation, it should be fairly close to the running time of the animatic. So, as of now it looks like "Do Not Push" will be about 4 minutes 9 seconds, not including the credits.

7/22 - Talia's New Clothes!

I wasn't quite happy with Talia's shirt for two reasons. 1) You could sort of see through it a little, and when taking close up pictures, like I will be doing in my film, it would be a disaster to see the green foam underneath. 2) Slowly over time it seemed more like a kids' outfit than a woman's.

So I decided if I wasn't happy with her outfit as I had been originally that I should goto the store and see what other options might be out there. I think she looks more like a woman now than she did before, and I'm much happier with her outfit.

7/19 - Audio Cut!

A week ago I recorded the audio for "Do Not Push", and it has now been edited down and is more or less ready to animate to. The next step is to put my storyboards to the audio and make an animatic, then I'll have an idea of how long the film will really be.
